On Saturday, Worcester CLP selected Joy Squires as their candidate for the next General Election. Squires is a local councillor in Worcester, representing Arboretum ward.
Labour will be looking to overhaul Tory Robin Walker’s slim 2,982-vote majority. The seat was held by the Tories for over seventy years by the Tories until Michael Foster won the seat in 1997. It was lost to the Tories last year, and is 48 on the list of Labour’s target seats.
Congratulations to Joy, and commiserations to the other candidates.
