More examples of shy Tories pretending not to be Tories

Earlier this week we showed you a leaflet being put out in True Blue Salisbury that neglected to mention that the candidate was a Tory. Of course this isn’t the only example of STS (Shy Tory Syndrome) so we’re in the process of assembling a few more.

You may have seen this first one already – John Woodcock tweeted it a few days ago. It’s a UKIP leaflet, right? Wrong! It’s a Tory leaflet, masquerading as a UKIP leaflet, in a desperate attempt to engage Tory > UKIP switchers. When will politicians learn that this stunt is never a good idea. Here’s the leaflet:

But if that leaflet is at least tactically understandable, the next one is just a bit weird. It’s being put out by Tory Peter Britcliffe in Lancashire, and focuses on his role in the Oswaldwistle “plague of flies” incident – whatever role that was.  Peter Britcliffe might be familiar to some – he’s the former council leader who refused to give up “his desk” at the Town Hall after losing an election. Now he’s left resorting to pleading with the electorate to “Please be there for him”. Here’s his…dramatic (and party-affiliation free) leaflet:

We’re sure there are many more of these out around the country today. If you’ve seen one, tweet us a picture, or email us – we’ll share the best ones
