Controversial Tory twitter account smears teachers as Nazis and Stalinists

The controversial Tory Education Twitter account is in trouble again – over 7 months on from Gove’s officials moving to “clean up” the abusive Twitter account. Last night “Tory Education” went even further than before, likening teaching unions to Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia. The tweet said, “Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact aka NUT/NASUWT alliance is crumbling. Hats pulled low on Great Smith Street as they prepare to betray each other!” – comparing their relationship to the non-aggression pact between Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s Russia:

Tory Education Nazy slur

The Twitter account refers to “Great Smith Street” and apparently has intimate knowledge of the negotiations – so is someone in Gove’s team (or more broadly in government) smearing and slandering people in this way?

And if so, why haven’t they been reigned in? Or sacked?
