Miliband to appear on Watchdog tonight – to take cost of living arguments “into the living rooms of Britain”

Ed Miliband’s cost of living policy prospectus has much in common with style of consumer activism on display in TV Show Watchdog – so it’s interesting (as Paul Waugh noted this afternoon) that Ed Miliband will be appearing on Watchdog at 8pm tonight.

A Labour source told me this afternoon that Miliband wants to use the opportunity to talk about the cost of living crisis, and take the debate about the energy price freeze “into the living rooms of Britain” – perhaps bypassing the filter of a hostile media.

Perhaps Miliband appearing on a flagship BBC show tonight is why Cameron was so rude about the BBC at PMQs today….
