We’re looking for a Deputy Editor to help build our editorial team. Could that be you?

Now five years old, LabourList has become the Labour movement’s largest and most influential online publication.
We now seek an outstanding Deputy Editor to help lead our efforts to the next General Election and beyond.
The ideal candidate will:
– be an excellent writer, capable of producing compelling, punchy copy quickly
– have an intuitive understanding of what will attract readers and drive the political agenda
– be politically astute and well-networked in the Labour movement, or have the personal skills to become so quickly
– be happy to do menial tasks as well as high profile ones
– be able to put their own politics aside to produce balanced coverage across the Labour spectrum
Key aspects of the role include:
• Sub-editing, including story selection and publishing
• Covering for the Editor when necessary, including running the site and doing media work
• Building LabourList’s coverage of local Parties, especially selections
• Curating our popular morning email bulletin
• Growing LabourList’s email list and social media base
• Increasing campaigning capacity (with knock effect on fundraising, reach and social media/email reach)
The role is a full-time role, based in London, with a salary of £25,000.
