An eagle-eyed reader has sent in this DWP advert on the Bedroom Tax from their local paper. Although unless you were fluent in civil servant speak, you’d struggle to realise that’s what this is even about. They don’t even talk about the “spare room subsidy”.
And the ad doesn’t even mention that people are having benefits cut and being turfed out of their homes – but it claims it’s “fair for everyone”. Here’s how the government are using your taxes to advertise the alleged benefits of the bedroom tax in local papers:
