
Miliband’s plan, announced last week, to cap rent increases over the course of longer rental terms (which he said would become the standard in the private rented sector). The Tory Chairman Grant Shapps attacked this as “Venezuela style” policy (despite his party having backed similar plans).
Mr Shapps might want to take a look at this polling from Survation that appeared in the Mirror today. Not only is capping rent increases popular – it’s popular amongst supporters of the four biggest parties, including his own:
