LabourList’s new Editorial Team

Over the last four years, LabourList has grown considerably – but our editorial team remained a one-man-band. I’m delighted to confirm that’s no longer the case.

Over the past few months LabourList’s editorial team has been able to expand, thanks to the generous support of our readers and supporters, as we build towards the general election. I hope you’ll agree that in recent weeks and months our content – especially in terms of news – has been sharper, broader and more in depth.

That’s largely thanks to LabourList’s two new staff writers –  Maya Goodfellow and Conor Pope – who I’m delighted to officially “unveil” today.

Their intelligence, understanding and perspective has already brought a boost to LabourList, and I’m confident that will continue to be the case in the months to come.

Conor – who has been writing for us since 2011 – has already been thrown in at the deep end, taking the reins for our 40 hour election day (and night, and day) liveblog, and his sharp analysis – and sense of humour – brings something genuinely new to the site.

Maya joins us from the RSA, where she was working on a variety of research projects. She’s already brought a keen eye to LabourList, as well as offering a perspective not bound by the constraints of the Westminster Village.

As well as welcoming Conor and Maya to the team, I’m also delighted to announce that Stefan Stern and Emma Burnell are joining the Editorial team as Contributing Editors. Both Emma and Stefan bring so much to LabourList already – not only with their popular weekly columns, but also with their constant advice and support for the site based on their considerable experience.

I’m delighted that they’re willing to play an even bigger role in the site’s future.

We’ve been out and about with Labour activists and candidates across the country from Bristol to Hull, and will soon be heading to Cambridgeshire and Lancashire – as well as Runcorn and Helsby. We’ve also polled readers for their views on the campaign.
