Today the New Years Honours list has been announced and among those receiving titles are two Labour MPs who are stepping down in May.
Anne McGuire, who has been MP for Stirling since 1997 and is also the chair of Labour Friends of Israel, has been made a Dame.
Joining McGuire is Hugh Bayley, the Labour MP for York Central, who is also the president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Other awards for Labour politicians include OBEs for Arlene McCarthy and Brian Simpson who were both formerly MEPs for the North West.
Congratulations to all of those who have been honoured today.
