Yesterday, three polls came out, two of which did not signal good news for the Labour Party.
YouGov’s latest round of polling puts the Conservatives four points ahead of Labour. This is the largest lead they’ve given the Tories since January 2012. And as they point out over at UK Polling Report, is in YouGov’s daily polls this is becoming something of a trend; of the last ten polls the Tories have been ahead in four and Labour in two.
YouGov – Con 35%, Lab 31%,UKIP 14%,Lib Dem 8%, Greens 6%
Ashcroft certainly doesn’t paint a better picture of Labour. The Conservatives have kept their lead since last week, staying on 34%, while Labour have dropped down by a point onto 30%. Meanwhile, both Ukip and the Greens are up one, as the Lib Dems are down by 2 – putting them three points behind the Greens.

The only poll yesterday that had Labour in the lead was Populus’ and even then it wasn’t a big lead. They have Labour one point ahead of the Tories; this time last week Labour had a two point lead, meaning they’ve dropped by one point while the Tories have stayed on 32%.
Populus – Lab 33%, Con 32%, UKIP 15%, Lib Dem 9%, Green 6%
Unfortunately, all of this seems to signal a general trend where the Tories are moving ahead of Labour…
