“I’m fighting for One London”: Tessa Jowell releases campaign video

Tessa Jowell

Tessa Jowell has today released a new video in her campaign to become Labour’s candidate for London Mayor. The three minute video, titled ‘One London’, features Jowell explain her background and connection to the city, as well as raising the issue of poverty in the capital:

“I’ve worked here all my life, but the thrill and challenge of being part of this great city never goes away. It has an energy like nowhere else I have ever been. It is a place of innovation; of creativity. A world city.

“But there is another London. A second London, in which four out of ten children grow up in poverty, and in which more than half a million people get by on less than a living wage.

“For too many people the opportunities that London offers are not for them, but for someone else. And that’s why I’m fighting for One London.”
