
A councillor and trade union rep has been named as Labour’s candidate in Nottingham North.
Alex Norris was among a host of selections announced under the party’s “exceptional selections procedure”.
The contest was triggered by Graham Allen’s decision to stand down at the general election. The MP’s majority was 11,860 in 2015.
Norris, who is an organiser for Unison, and activist for the GMB and Co-Op, tweeted:
It’s an honour to be selected to represent @uklabour in my home seat of Nottingham North. Now the real work starts!
