Tories’ poll lead cut to nine points

The Tories’ poll lead has been slashed to single figures as the voter rebellion over Theresa May’s “dementia tax” escalates.

A Survation survey handed the government a lead of just nine points.

The research, for Good Morning Britain, put the Tories on 43 per cent; Labour on 34 per cent, the Lib Dems on eight per cent and UKIP on four per cent.

Meanwhile a separate poll for The Sunday Times also showed the Tory lead had been cut to nine points while UKIP’s rating halved to just three per cent.

Conservatives: 43 per cent (+5)

Labour: 34 per cent (+5)

Lib Dems 8 per cent (no change)

UKIP: 4 per cent (no change)

Conservatives: 44 per cent (-1)

Labour: 35 per cent (+3)

Lib Dems: 9 per cent (+1)

UKIP: 3 per cent (-3)
