Labour MP Margaret Hodge defended her attack on Jeremy Corbyn over antisemitism on Radio 4’s Today programme this morning.
Hodge reportedly told the Labour leader he was a “racist” and an “antisemite” in the chamber last week after Labour’s NEC agreed on a new code of conduct that – according to critics – fails to adopt the full International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism including all the examples.
The Labour MP today said that “by refusing to adopt the [IHRA] definition in full, of what antisemitism is, he’s put himself in the position that he’s perceived by many to be antisemitic” and emphasised that action, rather than words, is needed.
