Keir Starmer QC has been selected as Labour’s candidate for Holborn and St Pancras.
Starmer is replacing current MP, Frank Dobson, as Labour candidate for the Central London constituency. In July, Dobson announced that he would be retiring from the post he’s held for 34 years.
Starmer has worked as a barrister for over 20 years, and was Director of Public Prosecutions and the Crown Prosecution Service. In December 2013, Labour appointed Starmer as head of an enquiry into finding way to ensure further protection to victims in cases of rape and child abuse.
The other candidates included leader of Camden Council Sarah Hayward and Chair Holborn and St Pancras Labour Party Raj Chada.
Congratulations to Keir Starmer and commiserations to the other candidates.
