Poll List Dec

Two new polls this weekend both have Labour’s voting intentions susbtantially down on last month.

Less than a month ago, Ipsos-Mori had the Tories’ lead down to six points. Now, that momentum has swung and the Tories are again 17 points clear of Labour – and 12 points in a YouGov poll.

The topline results of the Ipsos-Mori poll for the Guardian show the Concervatives on 43% (+6), Labour on 26% (-5), and the Lib Dems on 20% (+2). That would give the Tories a 116 seat majority, with 383 seats to Labour’s 196.

In the YouGov poll for The People, the topline numbers have the Conservatives on 40% (nc), Labour on 28% (-3) and the Lib Dems on 18% (+2), which would translate to a Tory majority of 42.

With some bleak news in the PBR, Ipsos-Mori showed only 32% of people felt the economy will improve in the next year, down from 46% last month. Gordon Brown’s personal rating has also deteriorated on last month.
