LabourList eavesdropped on a boisterous conversation between Alastair Campbell and John Prescott after they’d both spoken at the London Labour fundrasing dinner last night. Here they are sharing a joke and a bit of sympathy for our editor after the Draper’s Downfall video.
The boys can only just be heard over the sound of throngs of Labour people, so listen carefully!
JP: ‘Poor Derek, they have the bloggers launch, then I saw Iain Dale and all those had put him up as Hitler, with all his generals.’
AC: ‘I saw that, yeah. Well I’ve been – at various points – I’ve been Hitler, Stalin and Rasputin.’
JP: ‘But let’s face it, whatever Iain Dale and them are saying, Derek Draper has put up a good network for the Labour Party, ‘LabourListens’, and we want as many communications as we can get: Iain Dale, GuiFawkes – look out baby, coz we’re taking over!’
AC: ‘He meant LabourList. It’s John Prescott, he never gets his words quite right – it’s LabourList!’
JP: And when I said that Peter Mandelson said: ‘LabourList? I wasn’t in favour of ‘LabourListens!’
