In today’s Evening Standard lead comment, David Cameron argues that “the most powerful tool in our democracy is not the ballot box or the soap box. It’s the packing box in the removal van in Downing Street.”
In other words, it’s not about which party you pick: it’s about the man at No. 10. It’s about individuals, not policies. Indeed, throughout his article, he makes the case against policy compromise and in favour of “clear leadership”.
Which begs the question, hasn’t he also just made the case for a change of Labour leader? And if there were a change of leader, hasn’t he also just admitted that a General Election would be unnecessary?
