What’s your MP up to this summer?

38 degreesFrom @LabourList

New campain group 38 Degrees will be pointing the spotlight at your MPs this summer, helping to ensure they are doing the consituncy work they always say they’re doing throughout their long, 12 week break from Westminster.

The group says:

“Parliament closes today until 12th October. Will your MP be using their 12 week break from parliament to work hard in your local area? Or will they be taking a very long holiday and earning extra money from a second job? Being an MP is meant to be a full time, but thereâ⒬┢s a risk that some MPs may be planning to abuse the system.”

“By working together, we can press MPs to make their summer workplans public. We can send them thousands of messages, all asking them to spend 10 minutes completing 38 Degreesâ⒬┢ online survey.”

You can email your MP to make sure he or she is working for you over the summer by clicking here.

The campaign also featured on Channel 4 News this week, where Nick Clegg said that while he hopes MPs take a bit of a break, they are also expected to work on constituency matters for the majority of the recess:
