Tonight’s poll from YouGov (Con 33%, LD 30, Lab 28%) has come as something of a shock to everyone, with the pundits and columnists already in overdrive predicting all sorts of electoral scenarios, pronouncing it a “dramatic turning point”, and so on.
If the polls continue in the same direction, then it may well prove to be just that, and I will look at including a trend line for the Liberal Democrats over the weekend. For now, though, here is the impact as it relates to Labour and the Conservatives:
