* Nick Clegg has reportedly given himself until the end of today to see if a deal can be struck with the Tories.

* Identity crisis: 43% of Lib Dem voters see themselves as on the left left or centre-left, with only 9% say they are on the right or centre-right.

* Gordon Brown, Peter Mandelson and Alastair Campbell have been discussing the notion that Brown could step down as Labour leader this week, according to Nick Robinson.
