Sky News reflects on the last day of Labour government

May 11By Alex Smith / @alexsmith1982

There was a darkening mood amongst Labour people on May 11th, as throughout the day it became evident that these were the final hours of thirteen years of Labour government.

The throng on college green that night was ilke I’d never seen it before. I saw Ed Balls and John Prescott out there; both seemed heavy, tired and genuinely upset. The weather added to the drained mood.

With the leadership election taking off within 36 hours, few have had a chance to stop and reflect on that day. But Sky News have done so today, with this video montage of their coverage. If you have any prejudices about Sky’s coverage, drop them for a quarter of an hour while you watch this.
