Former Barnsley Central MP Eric Illsley has been sentenced to 12 months in prison over false expenses claims. Illsley stepped down as MP for Barnsley Central on Tuesday evening after being found guilty last month.
Labour have already selected Dan Jarvis to contest the seat at a by-election scheduled for March 3rd.
