The credits were about to roll when presenter Matt Baker casually asked the Prime Minister:
“How do you sleep at night?”
Some have suggested that Baker was asking a polite question about the PM’s sleeping habits, but the shock from his co-presenter suggests that this wasn’t a scheduled question in what must have been a carefully pre-prepared interview. It’s important to note that Baker was brought up in Easington, County Durham. Easington was built around a colliery and the town was hit hard by its closure under Thatcher, and is now one of the most economically deprived towns in the UK. On that basis, it seems hard to believe that this wasn’t a political question. You can watch the video below.
