Big Society Tsar Nat Wei has poured more embarrassment on David Cameron’s beleagured project by resigning just one day after Cameron made its 4th relaunch. Wei’s decision comes just 3 months after he decided to cut back his hours because he wasn’t being paid. Oh the irony.
The cabinet office announced today:
“Lord Wei has announced he will stand down as the Government’s Adviser on Big Society to take up a new role with the Community Foundation Network driving practical development of Big Society ideas in communities.”
Presumably he’ll actually be paid for his new role…
Update: Thanks to Third Sector’s Kate Wiggins, who tells us that Wei won’t we paid for his new role with CFN.
So why is he jumping ship? Surely being the Big Society Tsar is a big deal (at least in the world of unpaid work).
