
Boris Johnson turned up at Finsbury Park this morning to announce another fare increase. Finsbury Park was an odd schoice for Boris, not because it sits between three Labour boroughs (which it does), or because it’s one of the poorest areas in London (which it is), but because he cut plans for “step-free” access to the station early in his tensure as mayor – an issue that still upsets many voters in the area.
What Boris probably wasn’t expecting though, was to be outmaneuvered by Labour activists like this:
