Spot the difference: How safe is the UK economy?

Last year Osborne said:

“we’re providing stability in Britain and we’re a safe haven in the storm”

Yet while the country was celebrating the Jubilee:

“Egan-Jones Ratings Co. on Monday cut the United Kingdom’s sovereign rating to AA- from AA, noting that the country’s situation is worse than it looks.”

But weren’t those fireworks great eh?
