Yesterday we reported that Cannock Chase Labour Party had drawn up a selection shortlist ahead of their selection meeting on September 8th. So who is in the running to take the seat back from Aidan Burley? Here’s the shortlist (and a bit of information on each candidate):
Mark Davis is a local party member & community campaigner. His website is here.
Simon Hogg is a councillor in Wandsworth.
Russell Kennedy was PPC for Chelmsford West in 2005 and Maldon and Chelmsford East in 2001.
Cheryl Pidgeon is an Erewash councillor, UCATT Midlands Regional Secretary and former Regional Secretary of Midlands TUC.
Eleanor Smith is a theatre nurse from Birmingham and former President of Unison (she was the first black woman to hold that post).
Janos Toth is the Deputy Leader of Cannock Chase Council.
Know anything about any of the candidates that we’ve missed? You can email us with any details.
