Coventry councillor Lynnette Kelly has been selected by party members as PPC for Warwick and Leamington at a meeting on Saturday.
Lynette is currently Coventry council’s cabinet member for city development, and has a PhD from Warwick University. The mother of four will be seeking to unseat Tory MP Chris White, who took the seat from Labour’s James Plaskitt in 2010. White has a majority of 3,000 – placing the seat at 54 on the party’s target seat list.
Congratulations to Lynnette, and commiserations to the other shortlisted candidate Lucy Seymour-Smith.
