“We didn’t go into govt because it was the right thing to do,” say Lib Dems

The Liberal Democrats’ official Twitter account has been tweeting excerpts from Nick Clegg’s speech this afternoon, where he attempts to save his job set out his vision for the future of the party.

However, it seems we’re not the only ones struggling with what the Lib Dem message is supposed to be these days:

We’re presuming this (sadly now deleted) tweet wasn’t a direct Nick Clegg quote – but that hasn’t stopped us producing a Lib Dem-style bar chart to celebrate the occasion, in resplendent Conservative blue.

They have now, er, cleared up their gaffe:
