Sadiq Khan this week suggested that he would support all-ethnic minority shortlists for Labour parliamentary selections, saying he supports “exploring” the idea, as a way of improving minority ethnic representation in the Commons. Currently 27 of the 650 MPs in Parliament are BME. Do you support ethnic minority shortlists?
The weekend saw a debate on LabourList over the role of faith schools in state-funded education: Conor Pope wrote in their defence, while London Assembly Member Tom Copley said they ran against Labour’s values. What do you think? Are they a valuable part of our education system? Or are they an outdated form of discrimination that need scrapping?
Finally, we want to know about you. We want to get an idea about our readership – are you an elected representative? A party activist or supporter? Or are you not keen on the Labour Party at all?
This is your chance to have a say. The survey is here, and closes at noon on Thursday.
