The debate over the colour of a dress has been today’s biggest story. By this morning, the original Buzzfeed story had been read by more than 20 million people, all trying to figure out whether the dress was white and gold or black and blue.
With Labour leader Ed Miliband doing the media rounds to promote the party’s latest election pledge to cut tuition fees, it was only a matter of time before he was asked his position on the matter. His answer, despite evidence to the contrary, is that the dress is white and gold:

Miliband said:
“Well it’s an official Labour Party position, Chris, that it’s white and gold. I’m not sure I should enforce collective discipline across the shadow cabinet on this, but for me it is white and gold.”
Well done to ITV’s Political Editor Chris Ship for getting us a definitive answer on this important debate. Miliband’s lead on this subject could force other politicians to weigh in on the debate – his intervention has already led to calls that Leader of the Dutch Labour Party, Diederik Samson, follow suit.
