It’s reported that Labour have decided to stop attacking the Greens because doing so could mean that alienate some of it’s potential voters.
In October Labour established a task force, headed by Sadiq Khan, to look at how to deal with the threat posed by the Green party.
It looks like Labour won’t focus on finding negative stories about party or its candidates. A source from within the party has apparently told Buzzfeed that “Someone in the party decided that we’re not going to profile the Greens for negative stories because we’d turn off voters”.
Instead, it seems Labour’s approach is to highlight how voting Green will split the vote on the left, in turn giving the Tories an advantage.
However, amidst all of this, Green leader Natalie Bennett has faced criticism for her poor interview performances. Her appearance on the Sunday Politics last month – where she failed to explain the costing of the party’s Citizen Income policy – was attacked by many as weak. Now her interview on LBC, in which she struggles to explain the party’s housing policy and the costings involved, is making the rounds on Twitter.
