Over the weekend Kenny Selbie was selected as Labour’s candidate in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath, replacing outgoing MP Gordon Brown.

Selbie, works as an equalities officer for West Lothian Council and has been a councillor for Kirkcaldy Central since 2012.
This selection comes after Former Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer, Brown announced he’d be standing down as an MP in December last year, after 32 years in politics.
Although Scottish Labour are currently polling well behind the SNP, Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath is a safe Labour seat – Brown won in 2010 with a tide of 65%. Ipsos Mori found last month that it is one of the seats Labour is likely to hold in May. However, given the lie of the polling land, this is no time for complacency.
Congratulations to Kenny and commiserations to all of the other candidates.
