Weekend polls put Labour ahead – just

Polling_Station_2008-1

There are three polls in the Sunday papers – and they appear to put Labour ahead, but only just. Two of the polls give Labour a small lead, whilst the third has the Tories neck and neck. In reality though, both of the Labour leads are within the margin of error, meaning an effective tie with the Tories.

ComRes Con 33% (+1) Lab 35% (+1) LD 7% (NC) UKIP 16% (=) Greens 4% (=)

Opinium Con 33% (-1) Lab 35% (+1) LD 7% (-1) UKIP 14% (=) Greens 7% (=)

YouGov Con 34% Lab 34% LD 7% UKIP 14% Greens 5%

However, there is some better news for Ed Miliband personally. Whilst he’s still behind David Cameron in leadership ratings, the gap has narrowed with both ComRes and YouGov in the past week.
