
Labour announced last week that they would not publish the full breakdown of results in the Labour leadership contest. This means that how members, supporters and affiliates vote would not be made public. On Monday, Liz Kendall told LabourList that she would write to the party asking for the information to be released.

Many were surprised by Labour’s defeat in May, and the task to win again in 2020 looked daunting in the immediate aftermath.
Jeremy Corbyn has said that he would like to bring back a system where the leader could be challenged every year, theoretically allowing for a new leadership contest every year.
