Who’s been hired to work in Corbyn’s office?

Who has been hired to work in Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership office? His team have taken shape today with a number of appointments. Here’s the list of who’s who:

  • Simon Fletcher – Chief of Staff. Fletcher worked with former London Mayor Ken Livingstone for twelve years and spent eight of those as his chief of staff. He was then appointed as Ed Miliband’s trade union liaison officer in 2013. Fletcher acted Corbyn’s campaign director throughout the leadership contest.
  • Anneliese Midgley – Deputy Chief of Staff. Midgley also worked for Livingstone as Head of Event, before going on to work for one of the country’s biggest unions Unite as Head of Political Strategy. She was a member of Corbyn’s campaign team throughout the summer.
  • Andrew Fisher – Political Advisor to Jeremy Corbyn. Fisher is author of The Failed Experiment: And How to Build an Economy that Works, a book on the 2008 financial crash. Fisher also spent six years as a parliamentary researcher and worked as a policy officer for a trade union. In 2006 he co-founded the Left Economics Advisory Panel.
  • Steph Driver – Head of Office and Events. Driver has worked for both Harriet Harman and Ed Balls. She was previously Head of South West press for the Labour Party and also worked in a communications role in the party’s policy unit.
  • Gavin Sibthorpe – Events Officer. Sibthorpe previously worked as Campaigns Officer at UnionsTogether.

Yesterday we reported that Neale Coleman, who previously worked for Livingstone and current Mayor Boris Johnson, has been appointed as Director of Policy and Rebuttal and Kevin Slocombe, former head of communications at CWU, has been appointed press spokesperson.
