Jeremy Corbyn reveals his new Shadow Cabinet

Jeremy Corbyn has revealed his full new Shadow Cabinet today – eight days after making the initial appointments in the wake of a series of frontbench resignations.

With the number of people quitting their roles, Corbyn’s team struggled to find enough MPs to fill every role, meaning that several have taken on two, or in some cases three, positions. There is also a worse gender balance than previously, with women taking 10 of the 25 positions.

However, the reshuffle has seen big promotions for a number of MPs from the 2015 intake – notably Richard Burgon at Shadow Justice and Shadow Lord Chancellor, Clive Lewis at Shadow Defence, Rebecca Long-Bailey at Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Angela Rayner at Shadow Education and Minister for Women and Equalities.
