Jeremy Corbyn would make a better prime minister than Theresa May, voters in London have said for the first time.
The Labour leader was preferred by a 37/34 margin over the Tory incumbent, in a new YouGov poll for Queen Mary University of London
The survey represents a dramatic turnaround after May posted a 38/32 advantage over Corbyn last month.
Since then May has been hammered over the dementia tax climbdown and derided for her failure to turn up to the BBC leaders’ debate last night.
Today the QML/YouGov poll, reported in the Evening Standard, also handed Labour a 17 point lead over the Tories in the capital.
Corbyn’s party was on 50 per cent and the government on 33.
The survey was carried out between May 26 and 31.
