The Labour Party loves Sheila from Bolton West

Sienna Rodgers

Sheila from Bolton West Constituency Labour Party is having a bad day. It seems she sent details of the next local party meeting to thousands of Labour members outside of Bolton West… an email for the many, not the few.

“The next meeting… will take place on Thursday 26th July starting at 7.30pm at the Brazely Centre, Cedar Avenue, Horwich, BL6 6HT (map attached),” according to Sheila’s helpful notice. Sheila has also sent thousands of members across the country Ann Black’s latest NEC report, which is nice for Ann Black ahead of NEC elections.

It appears some members have angrily replied to Sheila, raising their concerns over data protection rules. Personally, I’m more concerned about the date of the email, which is just six days before the meeting rather than the typically stipulated seven days’ notice.

A number of Labour activists are disappointed that they haven’t been invited…

Others, including NEC member Alice Perry and Young Labour’s Miriam Mirwitch, sympathised with Sheila’s plight.

A Twitter account for Bolton West’s local party has been created.

This might be bigger than Labour Live.
