Yesterday at PMQs, Ed Miliband challenged Cameron and Clegg on the NHS, saying that the Lansley reforms weren’t in either party manifesto, or the coalition agreement. Yet Clegg appeared to argue that the NHS reforms were in the coalition agreement, mouthing to Miliband “yes it was”.
Speaking to LabourList last night, shadow health secretary John Healey said:
“Nick Clegg’s comment will be a real eye-opener for ordinary LibDems. Anybody even vaguely aware of the government’s plan to overhaul the NHS knows that this was not included in the coalition agreement.”
“And Mr Clegg’s comments also beg a broader question of what other policies he thinks he has signed his party up to.”
