Miliband spinner embraces Wallace and Gromit resemblance

12th December, 2012 8:56 am

It sounds like Team Ed have decided to embrace Ed Miliband’s supposed likeness to Wallace (of “and Gromit fame), with one of his most senior aides Tom Baldwin telling the Times:

“What’s wrong with Wallace? He’s a man of principle, who achieves what he wants to do, and he prevails in the end because he’s honourable, decent, a great British hero.”

What John Major really thinks of Tory Britain

A few weeks ago, as the Tory campaign was wavering, Sir John Major was wheeled out to prop it us by playing the elder statesman warning of a dire future under a Labour government. However, it seems Major’s not that enamoured of the present under his own Party – or it’s vision for the future for ordinary workers. The Mirror has an audio recording of Sir John talking to the Tory Reform Group. In it he laments the state of education, […]

The Tories’ potential cuts read as an attack on women, the poor and disabled people

In the next 24 hours commentators will continue to make election forecasts as polls shift ever so slightly. David Cameron will take his jacket off, roll up his sleeves and talk once again about legitimacy (probably invoking a fire fighting analogy to make his point). But yesterday’s leaked document in the Guardian is a reminder about what this election is really about. The Labour leader will be in the North West and Yorkshire to make this announcement. He’ll also speak to undecided voters one day before they go […]

Just over 48 hours to go – and the polls are still neck and neck

If there’s going to be a significant crossover to the Tories – as Lynton Crosby has predicted – then it’s either already happened and the pollsters have missed it, or it’s going to happen in the final 48 hours of the campaign. Because so far, the polls are all telling a similar story – tied, or a narrow lead either way: YouGov CON 33%, LAB 33%, LDEM 10%, UKIP 12%, GRN 5% Populus CON 34%, LAB 34%, LDEM 10%, UKIP […]

Miliband: Labour wouldn’t borrow more than the Tories

Today Ed Miliband was interviewed by the BBC’s James Landale, in which he gave a clear message to the public just two days before the election: “I’m ready to run this country for working people”. During this interview, Miliband also spoke about the economy and he told Landale that a Labour government wouldn’t borrow more than the Conservatives – because the Tories would miss their deficit targets, just as they have done during this parliament. Miliband also said that abolishing non-dom status […]
