We’ve all had great fun pointing out how easily riled the PM is these days, and how easily he loses his temper under pressure. Most of us were appalled by his unPrime-Ministerial sub-Winner attack on Angela Eagle in the house today.
But it’s crucial that we don’t fall into a trap if condemning the PM for his personal failings when his professional ailings are so much more damaging.
This morning the ONS confirmed that the British economy has stagnated since September.
Tomorrow we know that Cameron’s gaffe will be picked over by the press. We know for sure that it’ll be examined on the Today programme in the morning, but that shouldn’t detract from today’s real political news – the reason, after all, that Cameron lost his temper. The government’s policies are hurting but they aren’t working.
But you knew that already. So get out on the doorstep. Speak to those residents. Deliver those leaflets. And tell your friends.
Lets finish today as we started it – focused on the economy.
