Labour MP says he’s often offered bribes by constituents

From the Guardian:

“Stephen Pound, the shadow Northern Ireland minister, revealed he is frequently offered bribes by constituents when he was hooked up to a polygraph test for a Beyond Westminster programme on Radio 4 examining why politicians struggle to say publicly what they really think.”

He was judged to be telling the truth when he both denied knowingly submitted parliamentary expense claims outside the rules and discussing with colleagues whether Ed Miliband was right to lead the party.

But he admitted being offered kickbacks of between £50 and £200 “about 10 times”. He never accepted them.”
