It doesn’t come as much of a surprise – especially following his performance in yesterday’s shadow cabinet rankings – but you’ve voted for Tom Watson as your MP of the month for October.
Watson last won our monthly award back in July at the height of the phone hacking scandal, but he has been one of the front runners every month since then. This time LabourList readers have rewarded him for his work within the party as deputy chair and campaign co-ordinator with their votes this month.
Other MPs in the running for the award this month were Andy Burnham (again, perhaps unsurprising as he was top of the shadow cabinet rankings), and Steve Rotheram, who led the debate on the Hillsborough disaster earlier this month, giving a speech that was both moving and memorable.
Congratulations to Tom – and thanks to everyone who voted.
