Gerald Jones has been selected as Labour’s candidate for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney.
Jones has been chosen after current MP Dai Havard, who has been in the position since 2001, announced that he was stepping down.
Jones is currently a Labour councillor and deputy leader at Caerphilly County Borough Council. He is also a member of GMB and the Co-op.
Congratulations to Jones and commiserations to the other candidates.
