Cameron agrees to a seven way leaders debate – but Labour still want all three

So David Cameron has (finally) agreed to attend one of the seven way TV debates. This final offer follows his previous final offers, so his position may well change over time. Labour certainly wants Cameron to commit to the full set of three debates that the TV companies have proposed – here’s what a Labour spokesperson told us:

“Based on the broadcasters’ proposals we have accepted and plan to attend all three debates on April 2nd, 16th and the 30th. If the Tories have confirmed they are to attend to one of these debates then that is progress. It is one down, two to go. But no-one should be fooled: David Cameron is still running scared of a head-to-head televised debate with Ed Miliband.”

One is better than none – but Cameron still looks like he’s dodging a head-to-head with Miliband.
