Lib Dem MP can’t tell the difference between Tories and UKIP

Do the Lib Dems’ even proof read their Spring Conference report?

Buried away in Page 31 of Don Foster’s parliamentary report is a howler.

Referring to the efforts of Tory backbenchers to block Lib Dem Private Members’ Bills, the report singles out two Tory MPs in particular, calling them “headbangers”. The first is Philip Davies and the second is Paul Nuttall.

But wait a minute, isn’t Paul Nuttall, the Deputy Leader of UKIP?

Yes he is. The dozy Lib Dems have the wrong man. They presumably meant David Nuttall, Conservative MP for Bury North.

Paul Nuttall may not see the funny side. He hit out at his local paper recently, the Liverpool Echo, when it featured a reader’s tweet referring to him as ‘bad Bootle UKIP meff’.

Nuttall said the insult (a common enough term on Merseyside) was “appalling”. How will he react to being called a headbanger?

Although to be fair – we can see why the Lib Dems might have trouble differentiating UKIP from their Tory coalition chums.
