A batch of postal ballots have been sent out in Kingston and Hull East without the full list of candidates on them. Ballots have apparently been landing on doormats today that fail to give options for either Labour candidate Karl Turner (who has been MP for the seat since 2010) or the Green Party candidate Sarah Walpole.

The candidates are listed in alphabetical order by surname, meaning Turner and Walpole should be the last two names on the list. However, on the latest tranche of ballots sent out, they simply do not appear. It is understood that a first tranche has already been sent out, which did display all the candidates correctly.
Turner has confirmed on Twitter that replacement ballots would be sent out to all those who received the incorrect ones. Although we’re sure he wouldn’t agree, he probably handled it better than most parliamentary candidates – prior to becoming an MP, he worked as a barrister, so will know the law better than many.
