A struggling David Cameron has been forced to issue a FOURTH statement in 48 hours as pressure mounts over his failure to fully answer questions over his family’s tax affairs.
The prime minister has finally confirmed that neither he nor his wife will benefit from any offshore trusts “in future” – although questions about Cameron’s past income remain unanswered.
Today a No 10 spokesman said: “There are no offshore trusts or funds from which the prime minister, Mrs Cameron or their children will benefit in future.”
It is the fourth statement made by Cameron or his staff since Monday morning. The prime minister has faced a flurry of questions since the publication of the Panama Papers began on Sunday evening.
He is under scrutiny over Blairmore Holdings, the offshore investment fund set up by his late father, Ian.
Today Wes Streeting, Labour MP and member of the Treasury select committee, told the BBC: “I think there are still questions about whether or not he benefited in the past”.
